The Facility
Redwood Glen is nestled in the scenic coastal redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains between San Francisco and Santa Cruz, just thirty minutes south of Half Moon Bay. The Camp Facilities have a variety of cabins and lodges and are all conveniently close to each other, so classes, dining room and sleeping areas are not far apart. All cabins have bunk-beds, and are self-contained with bathrooms and showers. Children will be assigned to cabins with approximately eight campers and two staff, and separated male/female in supervised groups that are assigned by age.

Every effort will be made to assign friends to the same group if requests (limited to 2) are noted on the application. We reserve the absolute right to make and change cabin groupings that we believe is in the best interest of the campers.

Meals
Campers will have three healthy meals a day served buffet style in the camp dining room. Vegetarian meals are available by request. We are not equipped to prepare vegan or specialty diets.

Medical Care
Jam Camp West will provide an on-site resident nurse available to administer first aid, dispense medication, or coordinate care in the event of a medical emergency. A major hospital is located in Redwood City, fifteen miles from the camp.

Camp Store
Campers may purchase sundries, snacks and Jam Camp T shirts at the Camp Store. JAM CAMP West is a cashless camp, so parents may set up a store account for their camper. We suggest a limit of $15 for the duration of camp. Cash may be placed in a sealed envelope with your child’s name and given to staff at registration on the first day.

Cell Phones & Other Mechanical Devices
Our goal is to provide our campers with a unique and natural experience away from home and the noise of city life. For this reason, mechanical devices will be prohibited at camp including radios, walkmans, electronic games, and computers. Cell phones do not work at Redwood Glen.
